Today was day one of my Body Back program! It started VERY early this morning with me waking up every hour because I was so worried I would miss my alarm! So I was up at 1am, 2am, 3am, 4am and my alarm finally went off at 5:15AM. Of course today it was the kind of cold where your legs hurt when you walk outside, but nonetheless I got out the door by 5:40.
So there are 8 women participating in this program and one leading it. Today was just sort of an introduction day. We talked about goals, challenges and the basics of the program. My goals include: losing weight, and more importantly losing inches! My biggest challenges will be time - I'll be working full time and teaching 4-5 Jazzercise classes on top of all of this, so I'm nervous that I will get overwhelmed (oh ya, plus I have Izzy and Aaron too!!!) My other fear is not being able to stick with the food plan, because I like to eat! :)
Anyway, we did our initial assessments today. I couldn't even do ONE pushup!! They had to be "real" pushups, no knees! But, I did do 25 bicep curls and 33 squats!
I have to tell you though, by the time I left work to head to Jazzercise it had been 12 hours since I had left home and I was POOPED!!! But I had to power through and my Jazzer-ladies were wonderful and very supportive so that helped!
The most surprising thing to me about the women in this group is that many of them were concerned that their husbands were not going to be supportive. That made me very sad! My husband on the other hand, packed me breakfast and lunch for today. Then he went online and found a "Body Back" recipe to make for dinner - but the BEST part was that he went to the grocery store and bought everything and then he MADE IT!!! :) Brownie points for him!! So we had very yummy tequila lime chipotle shrimp tacos, they were really good!! (He was quite proud of himself - and rightfully so!)
So I'm not sure that this blog will actually be interesting for anyone else to read, but it will serve as a way for me to document the program and the changes that are occuring!
Stay tuned!
I love you too much for anything you say to be uninteresting. Keep blogging!
